In September 2022, I received Arts Council Funding to host a recording of the podcast with a live audience. I was joined by acting coach and casting director Emma Crompton, vintage furniture upholsterer Fola Agbalaya and creative dynamo Cherelle Farrell, all previous guests of the podcast.
NB: Lela Harris was originally booked but due to an accident ont he motorway couldn’t make it, so Cherelle stepped in the relaxed, wonderful way she does so many things.
We gathered together to talk about the challenges of pursuing a creative path, finding support in community, challenging out dated perspectives on what a creative career path should look like and how we navigate this practically and also taking our mental health into consideration.
And we were lucky enough to have sharings of work from three incredible creatives: author Amy Liptrot, singer songwriter Josephone Oniyama and poet/performer Fionna Inward Allen.
It was such an incredible afternoon, with the most beautiful audience. The room was supporting with support, kindness and warmth.
